Who is Jesus?
Jesus was an ordinary man just like the rest of us. He was God made flesh. He was also God’s son. They (God the Father, Jesus the Son and The Holy Spirit) are one. Jesus was not a rich man. He was rich with the Father’s love, caring, happiness and the list could go on forever. Jesus walked on the same earth we walk on. He helped anyone in need at anytime no matter what they looked like. We Christians and non-Christians think, because someone doesn’t look like, talk like, smell like and etc. us we don’t have to help them. Where did Jesus spend most of his time? With the poor. He wanted them to be rich in his love, just like he wants us to be. Jesus never argued about anything with anyone. So remember when you argue it’s not the Lord it’s the devil. The devil will use all kinds of methods to sidetrack us. Jesus knew his purpose on earth.
Jesus had a mission here on earth. He came to teach us the right way to live and to die for our sins. The way God wants us to live. Jesus was the only perfect son. His life was the best testimony. (1 Timothy 2:5-6) says "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Jesus’ life was recorded in the Bible. From the time he was born to the time he died. If we read the Bible it tells us all about his life. Jesus was and still is our way of escape from eternal death. God had to provide us with a way for eternal life. In the Old Testament there had to be a blood sacrifice for the covering of ones sin. In the New Testament for the covering of our sins is the blood sacrifice of Jesus. Without his death we would have no way of escape. (Romans 8:32) says "He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things.
God didn’t have to give his son up for us. He chose to. God gives us the choice to choose right or wrong. If we choose right we accept Jesus as our personal Savior, then his purified blood covers us. If we choose wrong we have to spend eternity in pure torment in the firey flames of hell. Hell is a real place. Take the rich man and certain beggar named Lazarus, they both died. Lazarus was carried off by angels to Abraham’s bosom and the rich man died and opened his eyes being in torment and saw Abraham afar off. He asked Abraham if he could send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool his tongue. Abraham said, "Remember in your life time you received all good things and Lazarus received all evil things. Now Lazarus is comforted and you are now tormented." The rich man wanted mercy but when it is too late God doesn’t make any exceptions. Anyone who hears the word or gospel of Jesus Christ he/she is held accountable. When he/she hardens the heart and the Holy Spirit quits convicting the heart, there comes a time when the Lord has to turn to you his deaf ear. When that time comes you are going to spend the rest of eternity in torment with the rich man in hell. Don’t be the rich man, the materialistic type, be the rich man that is rich in God’s love. Don’t count on the materialistic things in life to get us to heaven because they can’t. Too many people worry about things that should not bother them. Worrying is one of the worse sins. Jesus said not to worry about the food you eat or the clothes you wear in Matthew Ch. 6. If we would have faith, that the Lord will provide what is needed, not what we want we would be better off. If we want something bad enough we will get it. If we wanted what Jesus offers us as much as we wanted the material things in life our lives wouldn’t be miserable and unorganized. We wouldn’t be in debt. The only debt we would be in would be the debt of His love. This is the only debt we should be in. Imagine all the money we pay to the credit cards. If we didn’t have to pay the credit cards we could be giving that much more to God. Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins. The greed of money is what gets us in debt.
This life can be what we let it be, with or without the guidance from Jesus. If we choose to live it outside the will of God, our life is going to be obstacle course. We may think everything is going good, but that is when the devil is setting us up for him to kill us or whatever he can do. We can not and will not be able to survive with someone pulling us down all the time. For example, if we had a person on our back and the only way we could win the race is to get that person off our back. This is the same way it is with the devil. If we want to win the race we have to get the devil off our back. Once we get him off and except Jesus as our one and only Savior we have won the race. Even if we have never won anything in our life, this is one thing we can win. But, after we win the race, the devil is still going to hop on for a joy ride every once in awhile. Keep our faith and do not let him bring us down. There is only one way to survive and that is through the blood of Jesus. We have to keep our full suited armor on all the time and be prepared for what the devil and God has for us. (Proverbs 3:3) says, "Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: Bind them around thy neck; write them upon the tablet of thine heart:" Nothing weakens the truth more than stretching it. With Jesus on our side there is no way we can go wrong. We may stumble a few times but with his sufficient grace we will get right back up
