How Fair is Our God?
What kind of God do we have? Is He a fair God or a just God? Is He a forgetful God or a promiseful God? Is He a disciplining God or a non-disciplining God? The lifestyle we choose to live will depend on what kind of God we serve. If we live the lifestyle where God is a just God, a promiseful God and a disciplining God our lifestyle will be on the right track. The track that Jesus took for his lifestyle is the track that had God as the focal point. If we have God as our focal point our road will be straight with an occasional sharp turn in it. On the other hand, if you think your God is a fair God, forgetful God and a non-disciplining God you’re not worshipping the right God. There is only one God and He is a jealous God. When things seem to never be fair; why is that? Could it be because you’re being picked on or is it because you’re not in the center of God’s will for your life? If you think you’re being picked on you are right. The devil loves to pick on us. He likes playing his little mind games with us. The devil has a job here on earth to keep everyone and anyone he can from knowing about Jesus or God and with someone like that on your side, why should your life be fair. If everything were fair in life there would be no need to have a God and to have to make decisions.
That’s not the God I know. The God I know is a just God; a God that loves us so much He wants what is right for us. If you are a Christian and things never seem to be fair stop, look and realize maybe you are worshipping the wrong God. Why should God let things be fair in your life if you’re not in his will? God wants what is right for us, we may not think it is fair but why should it be. If things aren’t fair that means God has better plans for you. Our human instinct tells us that God is wrong because we don’t look ahead to see the damage or suffering that it will bring. For example, my brother didn’t realize that the devil had control of a certain part of his life. The devil had hold of his relationship. What’s bad is they didn’t know it. Now they are broken-up with one child. The devil brought him from his family and anything else he could do he did. Now my brother realizes what was wrong and through God’s sufficient grace he is forgiven and he has apologized to his family, when all along it wasn’t him doing it, it was the devil and he was just subject to the devil. When things seem to be fair and seem to be all right we need to stop and take a look at what is happening. Something is not right. You’re not in the center of God’s will. This means the devil is on to you and he does not have to fight you. There is a saying that says "He’s got you wrapped around he’s little finger." The devil is in constant battle with God and God wants you to choose which side you want to be on. The devil will make everything look handy dandy in your eyes to fit your lifestyle, But God wants what is right. God says, "Ye be separate." This means be separate from society or worldly things. Don’t go the ways or do the ways of society. But also, we have to mix with society to be able to witness to them. He said rub shoulders with them but do not let them rub off on you, but you rub off on them. Back to the point of how fair our God is.
If our God were a fair God then there would be no need for life. Life would be boring. God made life to be a challenge, if everything were fair then life wouldn’t be any type of challenge. What type of challenge was it for God to send his only son (Jesus Christ) to die for us? God did not have to send Him, but for us to have eternal life, God had to send His only son. Without Jesus where would we be? We would surely be dead. How is your life, is everything going smooth? Are you comfortable? If it is then, pause and realize that God is not who you are worshipping. If you are putting other things before God you are worshipping them instead. So worship the one and only God the Prince of Peace, the Almighty One, Jesus Christ.
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord! (Psalms 150:6)
